Three clean sheets out of four have got James Husband smiling - and the young left back says Doncaster are enjoying defending again.
Rovers have shipped just one goal during their current four-game unbeaten run.
It is a turn-around which has coincided with the return to fitness of Husband, as well as the arrival of experienced duo Abdoulaye Meite and Gabriel Tamas.
According to Husband, the pair’s presence immediately lightened the mood on the training ground.
“It’s well documented we’ve been inexperienced at the back over the last couple of months but bringing some experience in has shored things up nicely,” said Husband.
“There was a point about three weeks ago where you could tell the team got a lift. It was a bit sharper in training and there were a few more laughs going around.
“We’re on top now, so it feels good. We’re enjoying defending at the moment.
“It’s not just about the four that play either, we’re all working hard during the week on different things. We’ve got Quinny and Enda [Stevens] on the bench who are very capable of coming in and doing a job.
“I would’ve taken a point before the game,” added Husband on Saturday’s stalemate with Middlesbrough.
“We probably deserved to nick it in the end but considering they’ve been on a good run, it was a good point for us. We’ve kept things ticking.”
