Dean Furman has warned Rovers they cannot afford to feel sorry for themselves if the are to reignite their play-off push.

Rovers have won just once in their last six matches, a run which culminated with a disappointing performance in defeat to resurgent Peterborough on Saturday and tumbled them to tenth in the table.

As they prepare to face automatic promotion chasing Swindon at the Keepmoat tonight, Furman says Rovers must plough on and get back to winning ways.

“It’s the only thing we can do,” Furman said. “If we start getting downbeat and beating ourselves up. we’ll take that into the Swindon game on Tuesday night.

“We have to take the Peterborough game as what is was. We have let it go.

“We know we’re capable of back to back wins if not three in a row and we’ve going to have to do that over the last ten games of the season.”

Heading into tonight’s calendar of fixtures, Rovers are one of eight teams within six points of sixth spot.

Furman believes Rovers have to quickly mount a strong run of form if they are not to get caught in the mix of League One.

He said: “There’s probably seven or eight teams pushing for a couple of spots.

“You only have to look at Peterborough and Barnsley who’ve put brilliant runs together. Look where they are now.

“We have to do that ourselves now.

“The group has got a great mentality we’ve shown before we can bounce back from disappointment and that’s what we have to do.”
