Paul Dickov admits that Rovers have missed Federico Macheda.
Since the injured Italian striker returned to Manchester United, Rovers have lost to Reading, Middlesbrough and Brighton - the first time Doncaster have lost three successive games for 18 months.
Defensive issues are most pressing for Dickov, having seen his side ship 11 goals in those three games.
But the Scot has admitted that Macheda’s premature exit - after scoring three goals in four starts - has played a part in Doncaster’s derailment.
“We’ve missed Kiko because the one thing he is is a goalscorer,” said Dickov.
“He’s got that fantastic knack of being in the right place at the right time, and when he gets a chance he finishes it off more often than not.
“Any team would miss quality like that.
“But I was pleased for Browny getting his goal on Saturday, he worked hard again.
“And I thought Copps did okay and Billy [Paynter] came on and looked lively.
“So we have got players in the team who can score goals,” he added.
“It’ll come. If the lads keep working hard and doing the right things, it’ll happen.”
Dickov, meanwhile, is hopeful Theo Robinson will be fit for Saturday’s derby at Barnsley after he was a late withdrawal at the weekend with a hamstring strain.
