Paul Dickov has backed his Rovers side to continue their good away form against a Walsall outfit that will ‘suit’ his players.
Dickov believes Rovers tend to perform better against sides with a determination to play attractive football and has marked the Saddlers as one such team.
“The thing you notice about them is that they’re a very good footballing team with some good players who will always try and play,” Dickov said. “From that point of view it will suit us.
“It’s been out there to see that our performances are better when we play the better footballing teams.
“It’ll be a good game and it’s one we’re looking forward to.”
Rovers are looking to get back on track on the road after suffering their first defeat on their travels at Bristol City a fortnight ago, a result and a performance Dickov is hoping was just an anomaly.
Walsall have won just once in League One so far this campaign and have five draws from their opening nine games.
But Dickov does not believe the statistics represent where the Saddlers are at this season.
He said: “You can’t look too much into the results, especially individual results.
“We can’t just look at the last three or four games and think we know what to expect from them.
“We had them watched when they lost 4-0 at Rochdale and you look at that game and think you’ve got a right chance.
“But you look at the performances they’ve put in since then and we know we’re going to have to be on our toes.”
