John Ryan says Doncaster Rovers ‘needs’ Terry Bramall now after his failed takeover attempt of the club.
Ryan’s bid to buy the club alongside One Direction star Louis Tomlinson came to a catastrophic end on Thursday when the former Rovers chairman failed to pass the Football League’s owners and directors test, just one day before the takeover was expected to be confirmed.
The club will now remain in the hands of major shareholders Bramall and Dick Watson, whom Ryan has backed to carry on their ‘good work.’
Ryan said: “It goes back to Terry now. I’ve spoken to Terry and I’ve wished him all the best.
“Doncaster Rovers needs him now.
“Our budget would’ve been a lot higher than the budget’s that going to be run to now, and we’ll probably lose some players.
“But hope springs eternal.
“I’m sure Terry will do his level best to get things sorted and I wish him all the best.”
