Teenage striker Liam Mandeville has joined Evo-Stik League Premier Division side Whitby Town on a month’s loan.
The 18-year-old will go straight into the Blues’ squad for Tuesday night’s Doodson Sports Cup tie at Scarborough Athletic.
Town boss Darren Williams told the Whitby Gazette: “Liam is a good player with an eye for goal.
“I’m really pleased that we’ve got him for a month because he’s a lad who I’ve heard a lot of positive things about.
“Some of my contacts who have seen him play regularly are surprised that he’s even on the loan list, and isn’t involved more with the first team, which I think says a lot about how good he is.”
Mandeville made his first senior appearance for Rovers last season and has featured three times this season.
