Doncaster Rovers hope to get a head-start at home next season by confirming a series of pre-season friendlies at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Rovers round off the current campaign against Scunthorpe United on Sunday (12.15pm) looking for just their seventh league win at home this term.

Doncaster’s home record is the fifth worst in League One and only relegated Yeovil have scored fewer goals at home than Rovers.

But attention has already arguably switched to next season and improving performances at home are right at the top of the club’s agenda.

Rovers soon hope to be able to confirm a series of pre-season friendly fixtures at the Keepmoat, with the intention of finding a solution on home soil as quickly as possible.

Dickov said: “The pre-season schedule is done. I can’t say any more purely because there’s games pencilled in but we don’t have 100 per cent confirmation yet.

“There’s some decent games lined up.”

He added: “We need to win more games here because that’s been nowhere near good enough.

“It’s something that’s hurt us all and something we need to put right next year.

“We’ve got a rough idea how we want to approach that.

“Believe me, we’ve tried 101 different things to turn it around, but it’s something that’ll be a big focus for us going into next season.”

Championship promotion chasers Middlesbrough have long been lined up as opponents for James Coppinger’s pre-season testimonial fixture.

Rovers’ tendency to play local teams would also suggest that Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United could also be possible pre-season opponents.
