Harry Forrester hopes to end the season in style - and says he has plenty left in the tank for Doncaster’s play-off drive.

The 24-year-old is pushing for a start against Bradford City tonight (7.45pm) after impressing as a first half substitute for Abdul Razak at Coventry last time out.

Forrester’s three goals in his last five appearances have each come in games he started on the bench.

However, he baulks at the ‘super-sub’ tag and says he is ready step up to the plate during Rovers’ run-in.

“Personally I do feel like that [I’ve got plenty in the tank],” Forrester said.

“I’ve been on the bench the last few games and now is a good time for players like myself to stand up and be counted.

“You need points at this stage of the season. That’s the main thing.

“We need goals, and we need match winners. so hopefully it’s a time for the likes of myself, Copps, Kyle [Bennett], Nathan [Tyson] and Curtis [Main] to win us some games and get us over the line.”

Forrester is on nine goals for the season but has been unable to cement a regular spot in Paul Dickov’s starting XI.

“It’s been an up and down season. I’ve reflected on it over the last two weeks,” he said.

“I’m one off double figures which for a midfielder is always an aim.

“I’ve scored a few good goals but it’s been really up and down for myself personally, as it has been for the club too.

“A few months ago we were miles off the play-offs and now we’ve clawed our way back.

“It’s a big weekend for us, playing teams around us,” he added.

“We can’t afford to drop too many points but we’re not looking any further ahead than Bradford.”
