Former Oldham defender Cedric Evina says he and his Rovers team-mates want to give Doncaster’s home crowd something to shout about.

In an interesting contrast to last season, Rovers’ away form far outweighs their home endeavours with no defeats on their travels during this season’s League One campaign.

But the squad are heading into today’s clash with Oldham full of confidence following a three-game unbeaten run, which includes a Championship scalp of Watford in the Capital One cup.

And 22-year-old Evina, who was nurtured as a youngster at Oldham under the guidance of then-boss Paul Dickov, wants to keep that run going - and that means picking up valuable home points against his former side.

“We want to keep the momentum going,” said the former Arsenal trainee.

“We’ve had some great results away from home, we want to give our fans something to cheer about at home now.”

The ex-Charlton ace is also not looking at the form guide ahead of their hosting of Lee Johnson’s Latics who are winless in their opening four League One encounters.

“We don’t look at it as if they haven’t started well and we’ve started great. We just focus on ourselves and we do the job that’s ahead,” Evina said.

Evina can look back at his time with Oldham fondly, but today says there’s only room for one thought. He added: “We will be looking at getting three points against them.”
