DONCASTER Rovers Head of Youth Football Paul Wilson said he was delighted with his team’s 4-0 victory in last night’s Football League Youth Alliance Cup final against Exeter City in Devon.

He said: “I wouldn’t say that it was our best performance of the season, though it was certainly our most effective to win 4-0 in a cup final.

“They were a good passing side. We’d watched them several times but we were just a bit too strong for them on the night and we ran out worthy winners in the end.

“We’ve had a great season, finishing second in the league and winning the cup 4-0 is a real bonus. But the lads have deserved their success because they’ve all worked really hard.”

Wilson was delighted that several coach loads of Rovers’ fans made the long trip to Devon and they made their presence felt in the 1,516 crowd.

The kick-off had to be delayed for around ten minutes due to long queues at the turnstiles of the only stand being used for the game.

Jordan Ball scored twice with one each from Brett Lucas and Josh Meade.
