Paul Dickov has warned Walsall they will face a very different Doncaster Rovers side today.

The Saddlers ran out easy 3-0 winners when the two teams met at the Banks’s Stadium in September.

However, Rovers go into today’s game unbeaten in seven in League One and keen to close the gap on the top six.

“The defeat at their place was a reality check for us - not just for myself but the players as well,” said Dickov.

“We’re a different squad now, in terms of personnel, confidence, and also fitness.

“That’s taking nothing away from Walsall on the day because it was three and it could’ve been more.

“If anything we’ve got to look at that game and see the warning signs already.”

After a run that saw Doncaster win at home once since March, Rovers have gone four games unbeaten at the Keepmoat and shipped just one goal in the process.

“Defensively we’ve been sound at home,” said Dickov.

“We’ve started to hit good form here and that’s come from having a solid, defensive base - but also starting the game on the front foot and really taking the game to the opposition.

“We’ve seen when we do that here, when we get teams on the back foot, we’ve got players that can hurt the opposition.”

Dean Furman could replace James Coppinger (ankle) in the starting line-up.
