It hadn’t gone all that well for Jamie Vardy.
Like his England team mates, he looked a tad deflated after the side failed to find the net against Slovakia on Tuesday.
But the fleet-footed Sheffielder knew exactly where to go to pick his spirits up.
He’d spotted his wife Becky in the stands and made a bee-line for her.
A quick look over his shoulder and the normally lethal Leicester City striker made sure manager Roy Hodgson wasn’t ordering the troops back to the dressing room.
Then a quick smooch with the 34-year-old model, whom the one-time Stocksbridge Park Steels player wed on May 25.
After his high-speed peck, it was back to the England camp for Vardy, 29, as the Three Lions squad prepare for Monday’s game in the last 16 of Euro 2016.
Hopefully it had been a morale-booster for Vardy, who first met the former party organiser in January 2014 when she was hired to plan his birthday party at the Viper Rooms nightclub in Sheffield.
