Wright back with old pal Sheridan
CHESTERFIELD's new assistant manager Tommy Wright has followed John Sheridan from Boundary Park to Saltergate.
He said: "I worked with John at Oldham, he left in March and I stayed on to the end of the season with the understanding that if he got a manager's job, I'd be looking to leave and to be fair to Oldham, they were good to me and understood the situation.
"I'd played with John at Leeds and we've been friends for years, we did our coaching badges together and we both wanted to get into management.
"But you can't just work with a friend, you've got to have trust in each other, you can't just get a friend in because he's a friend."
Wright added: "I've got a similar philosophy to John but I've got my own mind.
"We don't agree all of the time, a good partnership doesn't always agree."
Sheridan and Wright are joined on the coaching staff by Mark Crossley who will also be registered as a player.
