Spireites have the talent to do well says Wright
Spireites Assistant Manager Tommy Wright says he is happy with the squad he and John Sheridan have inherited at Chesterfield.
"I've seen a few of the players and there is some quality here, so it's a case of getting them back into training and then to get the players to perform more consistently" he says.
"I know the previous management team of Lee Richardson and Scott Sellers very well and they have left something to build on.
"By adding consistency and one or two players we can take the club forward. The one thing I guarantee is that John, myself and Mark Crossley will be giving 100% and hopefully we can achieve something."
He added; "Dave Bentley has done well at youth level and he says we may have a few players who can push on. We have a track record at Oldham of bringing in young players and we are not frightened of giving them a chance. If they're good enough they're old enough."
Wright is an addict when it comes to watching games.
"I've always been interested in football and I love watching games both live and at home on the television, which drives the wife mad. I just love the game really," he says.
"I haven't watched much in League Two but like most leagues, it's a case of consistency. On their day last season Chesterfieldcould beat anybody but it was a case of not having enough of those days that stopped them getting promoted."
Striker Jack Lester has extended his deal with the Spireites and will now be staying until June 2011.
Lester said: "This means I can look forward to being part of the exciting new future being lined up, including the move to the new stadium."
Chesterfield manager John Sheridan said: "Jack is now part of our longer-term plans for Chesterfield Football Club.
