Spireites still waiting
It's not quite D-Day! There's been no invasion of Saltergate by members of the press to allow the liberation of the name of the new Chesterfield manager.
Chairman Barrie Hubbard had indicated that the long awaited announcement was likely to be "towards the end of the week" but there's been no indication of the name of Lee Richardson's successor emanating from the club. Monday looks to be the day that supporters will at last find out who will lead Spireites into the new season.
One time Owl John Sheridan remains the overwhelming favourite with Colin Calderwood and Andy Ritchie two other oft suggested names. Micky Adams was named as Port Vale boss last night, ruling him out of contention.
