End of era looms for Chesterfield team and fans
Tickets for Saltergate's final league match against Bournemouth on May 8 go on general sale today.
Season ticket holders were guaranteed an additional ticket if bought by last weekend and the remaining 4000 or so can now be purchased by any supporters.
The open terracing on Cross Street is being made available to home fans with Bournemouth's allocation being only around 750 for a game that could see both sides needing a positive result to clinch promotion.
Additionally, tickets for Saturday's game at Burton Albion are also on sale.
One man who'll not be participating in either game for Spireites will be Paul Harsley. The defensive midfield man, who has made just seven League 2 starts in his two seasons at Saltergate, has joined his former Port Vale boss Martin Foyle on loan at Conference side York City. Before Christmas, he was farmed out to Darlington.
Striker Gary Madine's loan ended after the Vale debacle on Saturday and John Sheridan and parent club Carlisle United will be deciding if his immediate future lies with Chesterfield today.
Madine made two starts in his month with the club, but was withdrawn in both, and he came on as a sub twice but has made little impact on the park. Sheridan's problem is at left back. Alan Goodall's weekend red card will see him miss the trip to Burton, Gregor Robertson and Phil Picken are injured while Kevin Austin's last four starts have all been in games lost by Spireites. He could recall Dan Gray at right back and switch Andy Whing or dip into the loan market.
