This evening sees Chesterfield FC host its Annual General Meeting.

The Board will present the accounts for the year ending June 30 2011 to shareholders. In its first season at the B2net the club posted a £22,377 loss following on from a loss of close on £1m the year earlier, which included a lot of start-up costs associated with the move.

Turnover increased from £3m to £5.8m with wages and salaries standing at £2.9m, up from £2.4m whilst debenture loans were £2.4m higher at £3.7m.

The question and answer session after the formal processes is likely to provide the liveliest debate as shareholders are sure to question the manager on the current league position and his summer recruitment policy.

Twenty four hours later, Spireites host away specialists Bournemouth. Lee Bradbury’s Cherries are unbeaten on the road in League One in almost five months. Whilst the visitors’ injury list is a long one, they still have plenty of quality in their squad. Speedy Wes Thomas leads their line with Michael Symes playing just behind him. Former Spireite Steve Fletcher is often used as a late sub if some additional power is required.

But it’s midfielder Marc Pugh that is their dangerman. The trickster scored the winner against Tranmere Rovers last weekend in a 2-1 win. His goal, from well out on the left, looked more like a cross but it was his 10th goal of the season, indicating that he doesn’t have to rely on flukes.

John Sheridan is hoping he’ll have all of his injured players available with full-back James Hurst (ankle), midfielder Jimmy Juan (calf) and winger or striker Craig Westcarr (ankle) the three he’ll be most desperate to get fit.
