Ajose in line for Spireites debut

Chesterfield: Spireites news, reports and more.

CHESTERFIELD will be chasing a fifth straight win in all competitions tomorrow at a ground where they have not lost in 19 years.

The Spireites travel to Carlisle United looking to climb out of the bottom four of League One for the first time since mid-October.

Rochdale, one place and one point ahead of Chesterfield, head to table-topping Charlton whilst the two sides immediately above Dale, Scunthorpe and Walsall, meet at Glandford Park.

Spireites have Neal Trotman and Liam Ridehalgh available after missing the Oldham clash through being cup-tied. Jamie Lowry will also be in the squad after his return from a loan spell at Crewe though he could lose out to Ridehalgh.

New face Nicky Ajose, whose first training session with his new colleagues was only yesterday, looks set to start, possibly replacing Scott Boden in attack. Craig Westcarr, who’s missed the last five games with an ankle injury, is likely to get a place on the bench. Midfielder Jimmy Juan (calf) is unlikely to make the long trip, the Spireites’ only absentee.

Greg Abbott’s Cumbrians, hammered 4-0 at Hartlepool last time out, are without two of their top three scorers. James Berrett, seven goals and 10-goal Lee Miller are both suspended.
