Caretaker boss Tommy Wright found some positives as he reflected on the weekend home defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge.
He said: “In the second half we created quite a lot. Luis [Boa Morte] was terrific on his debut and Jack [Lester] was terrific but one or two more needed to step up to the plate.”
“The keeper made a save from Louis, Chris Atkinson hit the bar and Jack had one cleared off the line, so we made chances, but I’m not making excuses - the first half just wasn’t good enough.”
He was equally disappointed by the two goals conceded either side of Lester’s leveller.
He fumed: “The lad was 20-odd yards out and no-one closed him down, and the second goal ... we were all over positionally.”
