Former Rotherham United winger Daniel Kearns joined Chesterfield on five weeks’ loan on the morning of the Wimbledon match.
As a result, the 22-year- old Belfast-born Republic of Ireland U23 international will miss out on a Wembley appearance in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, in which he’s played twice this season for his parent club Peterborough United, Spireites showpiece opponents.
New manager Paul Cook said of the former West Ham United youngster: “He’s a good player, our fans will love Daniel. He’s bright in possession, got a trick, he’s a bright young player who can affect the game at that end of the pitch.”
