Chesterfield entertain one of their near neighbours on Saturday, a side with whom they share several links.

Boss Danny Wilson managed Sheffield United from 2011 to 2013, and assistant manager Chris Morgan made almost 250 appearances for the Blades.

Winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce is on loan at the Proact from Brammall Lane, but is suspended for Saturday’s game.

And Chesterfield midfielder Connor Dimaio joined his hometown club after years with Sheffield United, where he came through the youth academy.

When the two sides met earlier in the season, the Blades took the three points with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Che Adams – who was previously at Ilkeston along with Chesterfield’s Rai Simons.

Last season the Spireites had a good record against United, with a win and a draw.

At the Proact, Chesterfield won 3-2 in a game full of controversy.

The Spireites took the lead through Jimmy Ryan, before United went down to 10 men, Michael Higdon was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Daniel Jones.

Chesterfield keeper Tommy Lee saw red for bringing down Ryan Flynn, before Gary Roberts made it 2-0.

Eoin Doyle made it 3-0 with 18 minutes to go before Marc McNulty and Neill Collins, heading home a Campbell-Ryce free-kick, set up a tense finish.

In the return fixture, the two play-off chasing sides drew 1-1.

United took the lead when McNulty latched onto a John Brayford cross to fire home.

But Ian Evatt restored levelled after the break when he linked up with Daniel Jones to nod home in close range.
