Spireites chief executive Chris Turner has given manager Paul Cook his total backing after a week of exits amongst backroom and playing staff.
Ex-Owls boss Turner said: “One of Paul’s remits when we brought him here was to change the philosophy of the club. He sat down with myself and the chairman and obviously gave us his thoughts, and we’ve backed him 100 per cent.”
Leam Richardson has come in as Cook’s new number two and more appointments are expected next week.
On the playing side, more information regarding Mark Randall and Richard Brindley is expected in the next few days. Talks are ongoing with the pair who, when the playing staff details were revealed on Monday, were neither in the released nor contract offered categories.
Randall ended the season in fine style but for much of his two years with the club has been inconsistent whilst Brindley, captured in January from Chelmsford City, looked set to sign last month but the deal fell through.
Brindley had an operation to fix a hernia yesterday, the third such one this season following on from Tendayi Darikwa and the now released Craig Clay.
Jacob Hazel, who hasbeen offered a year’s extension, is expected to sign.
