Spireites stopper Tommy Lee hopes to rack up a host of clean sheets to help his side’s promotion push.
Chesterfield’s fantastic start to the campaign continued with a fourth shut out on Saturday in the 1-0 win over Accrington.
The 27-year-old has played every minute of every game so far this season and believes the team are benefiting from a settled defence.
Lee will be looking to chalk up a hat-trick of clean sheets this coming weekend with the visit of AFC Wimbledon to the Proact.
He said: “It’s important to get into the habit of not conceding goals, especially at home, which we’ve done for the most part this season and long may it continue.
“The more games you play with a settled back four, or back three if another player comes in, is very important. All the defenders have done really well and I hope it carries on.”
Lee played an integral part the last time Chesterfield secured promotion in 2011. He added: “Getting the three points is the most important thing. I try and do my job as much as the others try and do theirs.”
