Chesterfield striker Jack Lester faces an automatic three-match ban after the club decided not to appeal against an FA charge of violent conduct for an off-the-ball incident during last weekend’s home game against Walsall.
The charge was made under FA Law 12 for an incident not seen by match officials at the time but caught on video.
The suspension applies immediately with Lester missing the two away games at Huddersfield Town and Scunthorpe United, plus the home game against Oldham Athletic.
Meanwhile, the club’s new chief executive, ex-Sheffield Wednesday keeper and manager Chris Turner, has confirmed he’ll be the man that ensures John Sheridan’s transfer targets are landed.
He said; “John will have his targets, he’ll put names forward and my job is to go and get them signed up. There’ll be certain positions in the squad that John wants to strengthen.
“Dave Allen [chairman] has already intimated that money is available.”
