The whole community will be able to take part in Chesterfield Borough Council’s celebration of the club’s League Two championship win this evening.

A civic reception involving the players and management of the club will be given by the Mayor, Councillor Peter Barr and the Leader of the Council, Coun John Burrows, at the event being held at the Town Hall.

There will be an open-top bus leaving the B2net Stadium at 6pm which will proceed along Sheffield Road to the town centre, travel around the Do-nut car-park and enter Rose Hill via Elder Way and Knifesmithgate.

The bus is expected to arrive at the Town Hall for 6.30pm when there will be a balcony appearance by the players and management with the League Two Championship Trophy and the Youth Alliance League Trophy.

Coun Burrows said: “It’s been a great achievement for the club this year and is a real boost for the town. We’re delighted to welcome the team and management to the Town Hall and hope residents and fans can take this opportunity to come along and join in the celebrations.”
