Chesterfield head to Bramall Lane on Saturday looking to make it two wins from two in Sky Bet League One.

Dean Saunders’ men overcame Barnsley 3-1 last weekend but head to face Sheffield United with a worry over key pair Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Drew Talbot.

Both were left out of the midweek League Cup defeat at Carlisle, with Saunders saying: “They’ve both got glass hamstrings and we’ve a tough game on Saturday.

“Drew couldn’t breathe on 75 minutes last Saturday, he’s only trained for a week, so I wanted them both to be ready for the next game and it gave me a chance to look at a couple of the other players.”

After going down to a loss at the League Two outfit, Saunders may well revert to the same XI that started against Barnsley.

That would mean recalls for the pair at the expense of Charlie Raglan annd Armand Gnanduillet.

It is possible Saunders may well shuffle his pack and he has said he’s looking for more additions to his roster, although they may not arrive in time for the short trip to Sheffield.

As for United, they were thumped 4-0 at Gillingham on the opening day and although they repaired the damage somewhat with a 1-0 win midweek against Morecambe, boss Nigel Adkins has selection dilemmas.

He made seven changes for the cup tie and may well be rotating his side again on Saturday.

Players likely to earn recalls include Billy Sharp, Che Adams and Neill Collins.

United’s injury list is growing however, with Paul Coutts, Ryan Flynn, Bob Harris, Matty Done, John Brayford, Jose Baxter, Terry Kennedy, Craig Alcock and Jamal Campbell-Ryce all sidelined.

That however shows he sheer strength in depth of Adkins’ squad as he aims to take United into the Championship at the first time of asking.
