CHESTERFIELD, fresh from their win at Burton on Saturday, turned their attentions today to another promotion-chasing outfit, Port Vale but were hit by a goal five minutes from time.

Paul Cook’s side found themselves a goal down after only five minutes. But they hit back from that Purse blow to take the lead with a two-goal salvo from Marc Richards.

The striker scored after 16 and 19 minutes to put Spireites 2-1 ahead. It looked good for Spireites but then former Millers striker Pope equalised with 85 minutes on the clock.
