LEAGUE Two leaders Chesterfield thumped Rotherham United winning the Friday night local derby 5-0 - including a Jack Lester hat-trick, writes Digital Editor Graham Walker.
It takes the Spireites 13 points clear at the top and automatic promotion to League One now looking ever more certain.
Dean Holden’s diving header from Dean Morgan’s cross was followed by Craig Davies converting a Drew Talbot cross.
Lester gave them a three-goal half-time lead as he fired into the top left-hand corner from inside the box.
The former Forest striker added another, with a low shot into the right-hand corner, before completing his hat-trick from just inside the six-yard box.
It got ugly in the away end as a section of unhappy Rotherham supporters turned over advertising hoardings and had to be restrained by police.
