Returning Spireites still on lookout

Have your say

Spireites report back for pre-season training today with just two new faces in the squad.

Midfielder Mark Randall, from Arsenal and left back Nathan Smith, formerly with Yeovil Town, link up with the rest of the League Two Champions’ squad.

With Craig Davies, Ian Breckin, Scott Griffiths, Kieran Djilali, Ian Morris, Shane Redmond and Deane Smalley, all part of the final day’s squad of last season all now missing, numbers are down at the B2net.

However with Dan Gray back after a loan spell at Macclesfield Town plus Aaron Downes and Jamie Lowry back in full training after long term injury spells, the squad is partially replenished.

Manager John Sheridan is still hoping to add four more faces before the season kicks off in little over a month.

Having missed out on signing Smalley permanently and with Clayton Donaldson joining Brentford for three years, it’s still goals, or the lack of them, that’s the major concern.

Derby’s Chris Porter, Norwich front man Cody McDonald, and Rochdale’s Chris O’Grady just some of the player being linked with the club.
