The 21-year-old has been the subject of interest from Championship clubs including Reading, Brentford, Bristol City and Barnsley, who are thought to have made three bids.

The problem facing Town is the player’s contract, which is due to expire next summer, and his apparent disinterest in a long term deal at the Proact.

With seemingly three options on the table for the club, we asked Chesterfield supporters what they would do and the majority of those who responded wouldn’t sell in this transfer window.

Only 30 per cent voted to cash in right now.

One third of supporters who responded said they would keep Ariyibi all season and hope for a fair price set by a tribunal next summer.

The most popular option however was for the club to hold their nerve now and sell in the January window with 37 per cent of responders choosing this.
