Chesterfield have signed midfielder Jay O’Shea on a permanent deal.
O’Shea, 24, agreed to terminate his contract with MK Dons and has now penned a contract to keep him at the Proact Stadium until June, 2014. He has become a favourite with supporters since his arrival on loan in November.
Manager Paul Cook, who was livid during his post-match assessment at Wycombe W last Saturday, has calmed down somewhat since.
After stating his side had a “soft underbelly” and a “habit of losing,” Cook reflected: “First and foremost, I think what you must respect is that, when you manage a team, sometimes we forget that the players actually do try their best. Sometimes it’s your own frustration, when you can clearly see, in my opinion, that you’re better than the opposition. And that’s what hurts.
“The players know it means a lot to me, it means a lot to this club. “
