Spireites keeper Tommy Lee won’t be risked for this afternoon’s game at Buxton.

The Chesterfield keeper damaged an ankle just before the end of last season, forcing him to miss the final day win over Exeter City.

His absence means that new face Aaron Chapman, the 6’7” untried keeper from Belper Town, will have an extended run out.

Spireites players will train this morning before heading to Silverlands and manager Paul Cook said: “We don’t want to be left behind, we’ve got good players and we want to be up there with the training methods as well.”

Though looking forward to the test against former Stockport County teammate Martin McIntosh’s Bucks, Cook added: “There’s nothing like the real thing, which is Bury away and that’s very much in my mind. We want to go there fit, strong and ready to win a football match.

“We want to be at the right end of the Football League with people coming to games with smiles on their faces.”
