CHESTERFIELD were hoping that the squad could be enhanced ahead of tomorrow’s home game with MK Dons. Instead, it looks as though it could have been reduced.
John Sheridan has been looking to bring in a midfielder and a striker in the last couple of weeks after David Davis was recalled by Wolves and Dean Morgan loaned to Oxford.
However, no-one yet has signed whilst full-back James Hurst tweeted that he’d injured his groin in training after being held up in traffic following the pile-up on the M1 close to Derby yesterday.
Despite being in the bottom four, Sheridan has had very little barracking from the Chesterfield crowd but, should the contest against Milton Keynes not go as, hoped the failure to inject his squad with new blood this week could be the catalyst for that to change.
Loanees can be brought in up to noon tomorrow, but any new faces before kick-off will have had no time to assimilate with the rest of the squad in training. The loan window closes next week for the season.
