Danny Wilson will only talk about Ched Evans in footballing terms, but won’t discuss the player’s future as a Spireite.
The Chesterfield boss was quick to bat away any questions about the striker’s off-field situation following a not guilty verdict in his rape trial last week.
And Wilson was unable to put a timeframe on Evans’ return from injury.
When asked when the 27-year-old would return Wilson said: “When he’s fit.
“He’s not fit yet, next week or the week after I’m hoping, sooner rather than later.”
Wilson did admit that the former Welsh international had been a big miss, like other first teamers currently sitting on the sidelines.
But he wouldn’t be drawn on the club’s deal with Evans.
“It doesn’t matter, that’s between the club and the player,” he said.
