Sheffield United will get chance to check out their second round opponents in the FA Cup next week after the tie between Bury and Conference Premier leaders Cambridge United was rained off at Gigg Lane on Saturday.

The tie, the first out of the hat yesterday, will see the Blades away again on the weekend of December 7/8.

Bury, who sacked former Blades coach Kevin Blackwell last month, have put Ronnie Jepson in charge. He has worked with Neil Warnock previously. The pair try again on November 19.

Rotherham and Chesterfield both got home draws again.

Rotherham will entertain Keith Hill’s Rochdale who were the first away team to beat the Millers in a league fixture at the New York Stadium last season.

Chesterfield will face a fellow League Two side in Phil Brown’s Southend United.

Macclesfield, the big first round giant-killers on Saturday with a 4-0 beating of Swindon Town, will be at home to Gillingham or Brackley - the non-leaguers deprived of victory by an equaliser in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

Tamworth, who ko’d Cheltenham, entertain Sean O’Driscoll’s improving Bristol City.

Second round draw:

Bury or Cambridge Utd v SHEFFIELD UTD, Wycombe or Crewe v Preston, Shortwood or Port Vale v Salisbury City, Bristol Rovers or York City v Crawley Town, MK Dons v Dover Athletic, Boreham Wood or Carlisle v Brentford.

Macclesfield v Gillingham or Brackley, CHESTERFIELD v Southend Utd, Oldham or Wolves v Mansfield Town, ROTHERHAM UTD v Rochdale, Peterborough Utd v Tranmere Rovers, Hartlepool v Coventry City.
