Chesterfield’s supporters are steeling themselves for the worst with their team 10 points adrift at the foot of League One with just six games left.
The Easter programme could spell the end of the Spireites’ brief League One stay.
It will do if they lose both games.
They will go all out for six points against fellow drop candidates Walsall, away on Saturday and Wycombe Wanderers at home on Easter Monday to keep their hopes alive.
Manager John Sheridan has promised changes for the trip to the Bescot Stadium so Jamie Lowry, Mark Randall, Scott Boden and Derek Niven will all be hoping for rare starts.
Reflecting on the disastrous home defeat to Scunthorpe United, Sheridan said: “I thought we started really well and, after the first 20 minutes, I was pleased the way we went about the game.
“But, after they scored their first, I thought we were very poor.”
