Spireites ended a run of six straight defeats in fine style, in a 2-0 win at Crawley.

Their goals came in the final 17 minutes.

Dennis brilliantly volleyed home his eighth goal of the season, before Flores smashed home a cross from Diego Di Girolamo.

Andy Kellett saw an early shot blocked after he met a smart through-ball from Scott Wiseman.

Minutes later Dennis was denied by a decent stop from Crawley ‘keeper Glenn Morris.

It was Morris who was in the thick of the action again shortly after, getting down to save well from Kellett.

Loan star Flores was looking particularly lively for the visitors, and his goal-bound effort was blocked by what was becoming an overworked home back-line.

Crawley came close to breaking the deadlock after 36 minutes.

Jimmy Smith was superb in finding space in the box, with his well-struck shot being brilliantly saved by Joe Anyon.

Back came the visitors, and this time Dennis went close again as he was forced to watch helpless as his curling effort was turned round the post by the diving Morris.

The Crawley ‘keeper was at it again in the 41st minute as his outstretched leg turned another Dennis strike behind.

When the half-time whistle blew it was Lester’s men who were well on top.

The theme continued into the second period, with the Spireites threatening again.

Robbie Weir ought to have down better heading straight at Morris from close range.

Just before the hour mark, there were audible gasps from the away fans when Joe Rowley’s goal-bound strike was diverted wide by a deflection.
