Chesterfield have received no bids for Sheffield United target Eoin Doyle, and boss Paul Cook insists that the Spireites will not be bullied into selling their star striker.

Irishman Doyle has caught the eye with 21 goals in League One this season, and Cook said: “We’re not looking to sell Eoin Doyle. We’re looking to add players to our squad, to make us more successful.

“If someone makes us an offer which changes that view, then it will change. But it hasn’t happened. At the clubs I’ve managed, I’ve learned that there are always bigger clubs than you. We lost Liam Cooper to Leeds and moved on, if we lost Eoin then it’s my job to provide a replacement.

“We can’t do anything about the speculation but we won’t be bullied. If we feel an offer is good for us and for him, he’ll go and if not, we’re lucky to have Doyler in our squad.

“We’ve got to start thinking we’re as big as any other club in this division.”

Cook’s Spireites look set to be unchanged for this evening’s FA Cup third round tie at Scunthorpe United.

His side didn’t pick up any fresh injuries in the 1-0 restaged second round tie at MK Dons on Friday night, a game won thanks to a Gary Roberts goal.

Ollie Banks returns to the bench after being ineligible for Friday’s game.

Jimmy Ryan (groin) is expected to be available for the Port Vale encounter on Saturday whilst the target for skipper Ian Evatt’s return from a calf injury is a week later at Swindon Town.

New loan signing from Sheffield Wednesday, 19-year-old striker Mani Dieseruvwe, isn’t eligible for the tie, but will be available for the Vale match.

Waiting for this evening’s winners in the fourth round are high-flying Championship side Derby County.

Mark Robins’ Iron are in a rich vein of form, unbeaten in nine but they’ve not had a game since Boxing Day’s 2-1 win over cup giant killers Rochdale. Richard Brindley featured in that game and he’s subsequently returned to parent club Rotherham United.

Doyle scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 Spireites win earlier this season.
