Several trialists caught the eye in Chesterfield’s midweek 3-1 win over Lincoln City in a behind closed doors practice match.
Hendrick Cakin, 20, a French trialist formerly with Toulouse scored along with permanent summer signings Gary Roberts and Eoin Doyle.
Other trialists who were called upon were Jamie Devitt, Conor Clifford, Ritchie Humphreys, Matt Brown and John Shaw, who all played in the 3-0 weekend win at Buxton.
In addition, Jersey-born midfielder Michael Spillane, who had the chance of moving to the Proact Stadium in January but he chose Southend United and Rob Atkinson, 26, formerly of Barnsley, Grimsby Town and Fleetwood Town, also featured.
Former Rotherham United and Doncaster Rovers defender Nick Fenton also appeared along with Nicholas Kalakoutis, who has played for Cypriot team Olympiakos Nicosia.
Assistant manager Leam Richardson said: “The lads applied themselves professionally after training really hard in the morning and the game served its purpose.”
Spireites squad only numbers 17 players including youngsters Jacob Hazel, who’s on loan in Norway, and first year professional Jack Broadhead, meaning manager Paul Cook is looking for a minimum of five more additions.
