TERRELL Forbes has left the Spireites after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
His exit has come as France-born Ivorian striker Armand Gnanduillet joins the club.
Right back Forbes, aged 31, signed for the club in the summer from Leyton Orient. He started well and was a fixture in the side, but he was left out after the 3-2 defeat at Bristol Rovers and never regained his place.
A spat with manager Paul Cook about his non-appearance in the side, and his work in training, led to him being left off the bench and transfer-listed.
The manager also recently brought in teenage full back Richard Brindley, a former Norwich City academy player, from Chelmsford City.
Forbes joins Craig Westcarr and Luis Boa Morte in leaving the Proact Stadium this month.
The recruitment of Gnanduillet, 20, has brought plenty of comment on Spireites message boards, with the mystery of the 6’4” former Poissy player adding to the excitement.
Although he has played at relatively low levels in France, Poissy play in the regional, largely amateur, fourth tier in the country, Cook’s previous recruiting of Jay O’Shea, Liam Cooper and Conor Townsend has Chesterfield fans believing he knows quality when he sees it.
