Chesterfield have reacted to Eoin Doyle’s departure by completing a double swoop with loan deals for winger Mark Duffy and defender Ashley Carter.
Former Doncaster Rovers winger Duffy has signed a one-month loan deal after finding his first team options at Birmingham City limited.
The 29-year-old can play across midfield put primarily operates on the right.
Spireites manager Paul Cook said: “We are delighted to have signed a player of Mark’s calibre.
“With his Championship experience, we think he will be a valuable addition to the squad.”
Duffy left Doncaster last summer after activating a relegation release clause in his contract.
Carter – likened to former Spireites defender Liam Cooper – has signed on a youth loan from Wolves.
The 19-year-old left-sided centre half. arrives on an initial 28-day deal but that can be extended.
Carter earned his first professional contract a year ago.
Chesterfield will now turn their attention to signing a striker to cover Doyle’s departure with Sheffield Wednesday’s Caolan Lavery reportedly the top target for a loan switch.
