Triallists Manny Panther and Keith Quinn have been let go by Chesterfield.
The Scottish midfielder and Irish left-sider, who is the brother of Stephen and Alan Quinn, had both featured in all of Chesterfield’s pre-season friendlies to date.
Their departure leaves John Sheridan with just 21 men in his squad and a dearth of left-footers. The manager has indicated that he may have to ship players out to bring new ones in.
With Quinn gone, it’ll be interesting to see who’ll feature as back up left-back at Alfreton Town tomorrow night. First-choice man Nathan Smith could feature after an ankle problem.
With central defender Neal Trotman set to return, new signing Terrell Forbes could be used at the back on the left at some stage.
There’s also a chance that striker Jack Lester could feature. He picked up a groin injury in March.
