STRIKER Scott Boden picked up an injury in Chesterfield reserves’ midweek win over Tranmere Rovers.
With Tommy Wright’s small squad already missing Tommy Lee and Nathan Smith, plus Danny Whitaker missed out last weekend with a groin problem, losing another player for the Wycombe match will surely force the club into the loan market.
Former Rotherham United loan winger Kieron Cadogan, aged 22, freed this summer by Crystal Palace, played in the game and scored in the 4-2 win. Craig Clay, Jonathan Wafula and youth teamer Mark Fereday got the others to make it two wins and eight goals in two Central League games.
Cadogan, who started seven games and came on as a sub in six more for the Millers, is clearly quick, but being right sided is a disadvantage, a left winger is preferred.
Meanwhile, Spireites have added two 20-year-old loan men to their squad list, Huddersfield Town midfielder Chris Atkinson and Sunderland keeper Ben Wilson.
Atkinson made four appearances for his parent club and spent part of last season on loan at Darlington. Wilson, aged 20, was lent to Harrogate Town and Gateshead last season and he’ll cover for Richard O’Donnell whilst Tommy Lee is injured.
