Two former Chesterfield fans favourites have signed one-year deals with new clubs.
Scot Derek Niven, aged 28, who was the club’s longest-serving player when he was released at the end of last season, has signed for Conference side Grimsby Towl.
The mifielder fought off testicular cancer whilst at Chesterfield.
Dean Holden, 32, part of Spireites League Two Championship squad in 2010-11, has joined League One side Walsall.
Holden left the B2net in January after a loan spell at Rochdale.
