CHESTERFIELD boss Paul Cook is on the shortlist for November’s League Two Manager of the Month.

In his first full month in charge at the Proact he saw his charges win three league games on the trot after an initial draw and a defeat.

Since the turn of the month, Chesterfield have also won at Port Vale, meaning that Saturday’s home game with Burton Albion could see them win a fifth league game on the trot.

Favourite for the award is Southend’s ex-Owls supremo, Paul Sturrock.

The Shrimpers collected 13 points from 15. Exeter City’s Paul Tisdale makes up the three men on the list, and the winner will be announced on Friday.

One of Cook’s signings, winger Brennan Dickenson, has had his loan from Brighton & Hove Albion extended until January 5, the day theSpireites travel to Wycombe Wanderers. The flyer, who scored on his debut as a sub at Bristol Rovers, has started three games and been a playing sub in two.

A young team including a trio of triallists earned a point for Chesterfield’s reserves at Gateshead in the Central League.
