Paul Cook expects his three hamstring sufferers to all be fit and ready to face the Blades on Saturday.

Midfielders Gary Roberts and Sam Morsy plus Dan Jones all missed the weekend draw with Notts County even though all three of them reported as fit; the manager was unwilling to risk them with the tough United and Bristol City fixtures up next.

The manager went into the County game with his second choice 4-4-2 formation and, after a slow start, saw his troops batter the Magpies but they could only beat the in-form keeper Roy Carroll once to nick a point though their second half show deserved more.

He’s likely to revert to 4-2-3-1 for the weekend with three of his key men available again and most connections would be surprised if all three men don’t return to the side.

Cook’s options have widened further as Dan Gardner’s appearance off the bench against the Magpies showed he’s raring to go. His cameo performance showed great promise after his stop-start pre-season and season to date. The three attacking midfield slots will have Roberts, Gardner, Ollie Banks, Jay O’Shea, Romy Boco and Sam Clucas all battling for the starting shirts.

The final block of tickets for home fans has just been released so a sell-out crowd is expected.
