With supporters desperate for new faces as the fixtures release nears, Spireites boss Paul Cook remains relaxed.
Of this time of year and place in the game’s cycle, he said: “In terms of management it’s probably the least stressful time, if that makes sense, but once the season starts you go to the pressure of game to game, the highs and lows.
“This time of year’s all about building the bricks that will lead to the foundations that are hopefully going to make you strong.
“I do find the recruitment of players is the most important thing and when we look at our squad on the Friday before the first game on the Saturday we’ll all have a rough indication about where we think we should be.”
Cook said: “At the minute I feel very good about what’s happening.”
