Scott Boden goes straight into Chesterfield’s squad for their clash at Barnet tomorrow as they look to keep their faint play-off hopes alive.

The striker, recalled from his loan spell at Alfreton Town, replaces the injured Marc Richards.

Spireites manager Paul Cook is keeping his fingers crossed too Liam Cooper will be passed fit for selection.

Cook said: “Liam’s looking good; we’ll see how he trains today but the chances are he’ll be involved at Barnet. He’s a tough lad and wants to play. Marc [Richards] is out, his is a little bit longer term so we’ll go week to week with him, it’s ankle ligaments.

“Recalling Scott gives us a little bit more firepower and one thing’s for sure, we need to score goals. Going there, we don’t want to be sitting back. If we lose trying to win, I don’t think it’s the end of the world. If we can get three points, it puts pressure on those teams just above us and that’s what we want.”

Cook has no new injury problems and he has confirmed that French striker Armand Gnanduillet has trained this week, albeit after the players had two days off following the two Easter weekend games.
