Wales international defender Declan John has joined Chesterfield on loan from Cardiff City for a month.
The move is subject to international clearance being received.
John is a product of Cardiff’s academy and made 20 appearances in the Premier League for the Bluebirds.
The 20-year-old, who has won two full caps, will be with the Spireites until March 15.
Spireites manager Danny Wilson is delighted to have signed the player.
He said: “He is a very good, hungry player, who is very unfortunate not to be in the Cardiff team at this moment in time.
“Declan has experience of playing the Premier League, the Championship and League One and we’re looking forward to working with him.
“He’ll be coming in and wanting to prove himself and I’m sure he’ll be a great addition.”
John had a spell on loan at Barnsley last season.
