STRIKER Jordan Bowery, 20, continued to show up well in Spireites’ latest pre-season game.
Having already bagged a brace in the win at Alfreton and notched up two assists in the Matlock game, the forward struck a 39th minute equaliser following a Dean Morgan set up in the 1-1 draw at Macclesfield Town.
Bowery, with just one league goal in his career to date, has always had the support of his management team and they’re now hoping that his potential is displayed regularly in the new season.
Emile Sinclair had put the Silkmen ahead in what was a hard fought contest. Danny Whitaker, Jack Lester and Craig Clay all could’ve wrapped it up for John Sheridan’s side, who remain unbeaten in pre-season.
Defender Simon Ford was rested after a minor knee injury but he’s expected to be fit for tomorrow’s home game against Coventry City.
Two trialists featured for Chesterfield. Former Stockport County striker Danny Pilkington showed some promise whilst former Plymouth Argyle and Bradford City man Lloyd Saxton had another spell in goal.
With no league games under his belt, the feeling is Saxton may not be the man to push Tommy Lee enough in the new campaign.
